The Event Planning Committee Member is a dynamic volunteer role responsible for the successful execution of SELA UCC's events. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a creative team, gain hands-on event planning experience, and directly contribute to building a strong, connected community. If you have a passion for bringing people together and enjoy the details of event coordination, this is a great way to get involved.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning and Coordination: Work with the committee to brainstorm, plan, and execute all aspects of SELA UCC events, including our annual "Digger's Night Out." This involves everything from selecting venues to coordinating vendors and managing logistics.
Logistics Management: Assist with day-of-event tasks, such as setup, registration, and teardown, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
Member Engagement: Help create engaging event experiences that encourage networking, professional development, and community building among SELA UCC members.
Collaboration: Actively participate in committee meetings and work collaboratively with other members to share ideas, delegate tasks, and achieve collective goals.
Communication: Assist with promoting events to the SELA UCC community through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and direct outreach.
Qualifications
A strong interest in event planning and a commitment to the SELA UCC mission.
Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience in event planning, hospitality, or a related field is a plus but not required.
Time Commitment: The time commitment is flexible and will vary depending on the event schedule. Expect to dedicate a few hours per month, with a more significant commitment in the weeks leading up to a major event.
